Why Train in Immersive Design? A Key to Reinvent Live Performance and Events

Why Train in Immersive Design? A Key to Reinvent Live Performance and Events

In a world where attention is scarce and demands are constant, offering an immersive experience has become much more than a luxury: it is a necessity. In the live performance and event sectors, the audience no longer just watches a show or visits a space. They want to live, feel, interact. They want to be at the heart of the action, emotionally involved, even physically. This is where experiential design comes in – a creative and strategic approach that transforms a performance or event into a truly sensory and memorable experience.

Immersive Design: An Experiential Revolution Serving Emotion

Immersive Design: An Experiential Revolution Serving Emotion

The world of live performance and event industry has undergone a radical transformation over recent years. At the heart of this revolution: immersive design, an approach that places emotion, interaction, and immersion at the center of all artistic or event creation. Far from traditional formats where the audience remains passive, experiential design invites participants to become actors of what they live. It no longer involves just seeing or listening, but feeling, immersing, living a complete and unforgettable immersive experience.

My Path... and Yours!

My Path... and Yours!

In 2019, I created a solo show, a sort of cabaret alone on stage: “Ma Voie·x”. This show tells my life, from my childhood to today, and how I learned to tame my voice… and at the same time, found my path. I performed it once at the MJC of Crépy en Valois where I was in residence, and then time passed, and I procrastinated (one of the songs I wrote for the play is actually called “My Problem Is Procrastination”!).

An Extraordinary Journey: The College of Extraordinary Experiences 2023

Imagine a place where creativity knows no bounds, where innovation reigns supreme, and where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary. Such a place exists, and I had the incredible chance to attend it during the College of Extraordinary Experiences of 2023 (CEE). I embarked on a captivating journey at this exceptional event where I learned, connected, danced, sang, loved, clowned around, and much more.

The event brought together a dynamic community of creators, professionals, and enthusiasts in the field of experience design in a setting that was both stimulating, inspiring, and quite fun!

One of the things I love as an experience creator is that I have a great excuse to go see other immersive experiences and pretend I'm working. And that's exactly what we did, every evening, with my friend and business partner, Frances, when we went to London for 5 days for the very first World Experience Organization Summit last June.

An invitation to adventure: Harnessing the power of the Magic Circle in immersive design

During the exciting Immersive Days, I had the opportunity to co-design and co-host a workshop on the Magic Circle with the talented Eliza Calmat from Dream Factory. With our students for the day, we explored and tested the transformative potential of creating immersive experiences within a defined space.

Clementine Delait, the most fashionable of bearded women

I tell you again and again, at Eat the Cake Studio, we love strong-willed women! Women who have carved their own path, regardless of what society wanted to impose. We love including these women in our experiences, like our Cabinet of Curiosities. And there's no better example of a strong-willed woman than our dear bearded woman, Clementine Delait.
