From Bouncer to Bubbles Distributor - My Experience at the WXO Summit

Last June, the first WXO (World Experience Organization) Gathering took place in London, and it goes without saying that this experience was a huge source of joy. The event brought together a dynamic community of creators, professionals, and enthusiasts in the field of experience design in a setting that was both stimulating, inspiring, and quite fun!

Phantom Peak was the perfect place to bring together so many creatives

The three-day event was full of conferences, workshops, unconferences and experiences (don’t miss the summary of these in the latest blog by Elena!). It was a true festival of innovation and collaboration, which immersed us in the art of creating unforgettable encounters and the infinite possibilities found at the intersection of creativity.

What really touched me and filled me with enthusiasm was this incredible community of like-minded people, the “beautiful crazy gang” that makes up the WXO community as another creator so well described.

As a member of the support team, I had a unique perspective on the event - both as an organizer and as a participant. Throughout those three days, my main role was to support the event manager, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that all participants were satisfied.

Playing the role of attentive hostess (a position in which I really feel comfortable!), I thoroughly enjoyed making sure each participant felt welcomed and valued. One of the most enjoyable aspects of my role was the humor with which I welcomed participants at the event. It allowed me to meet every participant personally, even if it meant their first exchanges with me were under the guise of my alter ego, the “mischievous and teasing bouncer.” The exchanges among participants upon arrival were a wonderful source of laughter and complicity, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere right from the start.

And as a waitress at the opening cocktail, I also enjoyed the opportunity to create a warm atmosphere by making sure everyone had a glass of bubbles in hand. It was a pleasure to see smiles and conversations flow freely as participants made friends.

Energy at maximum!

Being an active participant allowed me to have a different perspective and freely enjoy the event. I even had the opportunity to co-host a non-conference with my friend and partner, Elena, on the theme of love languages and their relationship with experience design. (Funny anecdote: we didn’t know how to call our non-conference, so we simply wrote on the program “Something fun and cool” and were pleasantly surprised when a group of participants showed up! Kudos to their curiosity!) I loved having the chance to interact with other participants, share ideas, viewpoints, and experiences, and to forge connections that went beyond simple networking.

Living these three days as a member of the support team and participant was a true joy for me and the highlight of my experience at the WXO Summit. Taking on the role of facilitator behind the scenes while being actively involved in the community gave me a privileged vantage point to see with my own eyes the result of our joint efforts to create a memorable experience for everyone.

A big THANK YOU to all the participants, whether long-time friends or newcomers, who made this experience truly unique. The presence and participation of every person added invaluable value to the event. This was co-creation at its best.

I left London full of energy, inspiration and gratitude to be part of such an extraordinary community. Nothing is more rewarding than being surrounded by people who share the same ideas and passion. I look forward to the collaborations and adventures to come at WXO!
