The Challenge: A Castle, A Mystery, and 80 Adventurous Souls
Mission Accepted!
Our mission was to create an immersive team building experience centered around one of the greatest scandals of Queen Marie Antoinette's reign, all for a team of 80 people.
The challenge? We had only one month to build it from scratch!

A Little Preview:
An immersive team building transporting participants into one of the greatest scandals of Marie Antoinette's reign.
A priceless necklace, a spurned admirer, an intriguing social climber, and France’s most infamous Queen – participants embarked on a thrilling adventure to finally determine the true culprits of this story.
Unlocked Skill:
A sharp mind, keen observation skills, and solid interrogation techniques were essential for teams to discern fact from fiction and build a legal defense for one of the four main historical suspects, including the Queen herself.
A Creative Odyssey: Shaping History and Environments
Turning History into a Game:
We took one of our existing narrative structures and infused it with a good dose of gamification to ensure participants faced classic team building challenges such as puzzle solving and interrogations.
Character Sheets:
Our ultra-detailed character sheets became our compass, guiding actors through unscripted interactions. The backgrounds, motivations, and relationships of each character were meticulously detailed, setting the stage for an authentic experience. Improvisation remains key to a successful immersive experience, and actors must master their character facets like virtuosos to respond to all prompts.
Space Odyssey:
Four unique spaces were created from scratch, one for each character, with a fifth actress acting as game master in the form of one of the Queen’s chambermaids. The challenge was not only quantity but the quality of spaces – ensuring each reflected historical accuracy and the charm we envisioned, acting as a true window into the personality and position of each character at the Versailles court, from the grand Cardinal to the humble (but always very proud) jeweler.
Behind the Scenes
An Obstacle Course:
Though our narrative designer knew this story inside and out and had already built the framework, everything had to be reworked to fit the codes and requirements of an on-site team building.
Writing detailed historical character sheets for 5 characters is no small task, with more than 30 pages carefully written for each, providing all the information they might need to really understand and tame the very real historical figures they embodied.
With no less than 80 participants, we had to plan two simultaneous games with 10 actors and 8 unique spaces spread out in the castle hosting us, doubling all the logistics.
Surprise! Changing Scenery:
One week before the event, the twist: the experience had to move to the castle gardens instead of the indoor spaces, resulting in a last-minute spatial redesign! Not deterred for a second, we adapted the scenography to the castle gardens without sacrificing the historical immersion we sought.
The Grand Finale: Smiles and Applause
The Actors’ Salute:
Our talented actors, the true stars of the show, exceeded all our expectations. Their improvisation skills elevated the experience, making it unforgettable for participants who also played their roles like pros. The final trial was especially lively, with participants fiercely defending their clients, and characters accusing each other as evidence (and masks) fell.
Spaces that Spoke Volumes:
The meticulously designed outdoor spaces were applauded, transporting participants into the heart of the historical drama, showing how a few carefully chosen props can evoke entire landscapes. Participants not only solved the mystery but immersed themselves in a bygone era with genuine pleasure.
A Celebration of French History:
Participants were equally impressed by the historical accuracy and authenticity that permeated the adventure, revealing a fascinating new side of historical figures too often frozen in the collective mind.
