An opportunity to seize, a branch to open

For 7 years now, I have been giving theater lessons at the MJC of Crépy-En-Valois. I started with the little children. The following year I moved on to middle school students, with whom I immediately connected, and I ended up taking care of the high school students and then the adults as well. It is work that I find truly rewarding and that I do with pleasure.
For this reason, I have long wanted to create a branch at Eat The Cake Studio dedicated to enrichment, education and training through theatrical and immersive experiences. Frances and Maddy, who also want to help people improve their lives, are just as enthusiastic but we had so many projects and things to do that we kept saying “it will be for next year... for later.”
I believe that sometimes, when you make a wish, the universe answers it and brings you what you desire. One day, I received a call from Corinne Charlier, the mother of one of my former students. She works at the Pôle Emploi of Crépy-En-Valois and she wanted to set up a project within the framework of the national action “The Art of Accessing Employment.” It is an initiative that encourages Pôle Emploi agencies to develop services that help job seekers to reintegrate into the labor market through an artistic and cultural experience. It was the perfect opportunity to launch our education/enrichment/training branch with an interesting and engaged first action.
Of course, this kind of project is not done in a day. It took several meetings, a file, a budget, and a good dose of official documents to fill out, sign, and send. Once the file was sent, we had the great pleasure of quickly receiving a positive response.
With the ETC team, we created a presentation that I gave to the Pôle Emploi agents so that they could better understand the service and thus better propose it to job seekers, and they were truly enthusiastic.

The first session of this service will start on January 17th. There will be 6 sessions of three hours in total, which will lead to the creation of an immersive experience with job seekers. We hope that this service will help job seekers, especially those who have been unemployed for a very long time or who have difficulty entering the workforce, to regain confidence in themselves, realize their abilities and their skills, improve their verbal and non-verbal communication, get used or re-used to working in teams, and change their way of seeing the world, others, and themselves.
This service marks the launch of the enrichment, education, and training branch of Eat The Cake Studio and we look forward to seeing how far this project takes us. We will keep you informed about how the experience goes and feedback from the participants, so do not hesitate to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and of course, you can always sign up for our newsletter or visit our website from time to time to know all our news.
I can’t wait to see what other opportunities the universe offers us to expand our branch of education, enrichment, and training at Eat The Cake Studio.
