Towards the Summits: A “semin'air” that reboosts and inspires

A view that inspires
Introduction: On the way to the Pyrenees
Last month, we organized and facilitated a seminar in the French Pyrenees for our client, the Artline Institute. The event, which lasted three nights and four days and was supervised by Frances, took place in a hotel-chalet with a breathtaking view of the mountains, including a yurt for the seminar and a spa for relaxation. The client wanted to start the year with a burst of inspiration and highlight the company's growth over the past year; we therefore chose the theme "Towards the Summits," using the mountain as the perfect backdrop.
The Client's Request: Moments Rich in Meaning
Our client, whose operations are 100% digital, was aware of the need to establish meaningful connections and transparent communication among employees. With a focus on integrating new team members and conveying crucial information about the company, the client was looking for an event balancing professionalism and personal engagement. The mission was clear: to design a seminar that would foster engagement, facilitate authentic interaction and transparent sharing of information, and strengthen team cohesion.

Setting the Tone: The Magic Circle
To set the tone for the seminar, we used our theme "Towards the Summits" in all communications prior to the event. All emails were imbued with a mountain atmosphere to encourage employees to prepare mentally... and logistically! Upon arrival, I invited everyone into the yurt where I guided them in co-creating their "magic circle." Together, we established the parameters and ground rules for the time spent together that week, fostering a sense of ownership and adherence from the start. We notably asked them to identify their superpowers, choose their group's motto, and create their song. After that, they were ready to start their week!
Our Strategy: Learning and Laughter
The heart of the seminar was a structured yet balanced program designed to maximize productivity and engagement. Workshops and lectures were interspersed with social gatherings, such as themed cocktails, game nights, and even a murder party, offering moments of learning and connection. Mountain meals around large family tables were organized to encourage informal networking and bond creation, while surprise elements created moments of fun and curiosity throughout the event. We even recreated Christmas in January for the company's holiday party!

Contrary to appearances, baldness is not mandatory to work at Artline!
The Result: Reaching the Summits
The positive impact of the seminar was tangible and marked a turning point in the company culture, with participants reporting increased camaraderie, better communication within the company, and renewed motivation. The location, hotel, food, and overall organization were highly appreciated. Even the hotel staff acknowledged the positive energy created, noting that they appreciated not only how everything was organized (we were always on time for meals) but also that they could feel the team spirit and mutual respect among employees. A few days later, a participant even shared with us her personal and professional transformation inspired by the seminar, highlighting its lasting impact on her growth and development.
Our Lessons: Encouraging Growth
We will keep several essential lessons from this experience:
Meticulous preparation is essential. Although we carefully chose the coach for our mountain trip, it couldn't be used due to terrain difficulties. Fortunately, a team member's car saved the day at the last minute, highlighting the importance of planning every detail.
Immersion begins with the first step. Captivate participants' attention from the start to maximize engagement and connection throughout the event.
Good food promotes good vibes. Have meals together at spacious tables to strengthen camaraderie and ensure participants are well fed and satisfied.
Step off the beaten path. Consider organizing seminars in lesser-known regions of France to benefit from economical options and unique experiences, including transport.
Find balance. Find the right mix between work and leisure to optimize productivity and enjoyment for all participants.

Do you have a seminar in sight? Are you looking for ways to create a unique experience for your employees? We would be happy to help, let's talk about it !
